Fresh Start!

Well the last year has been filled with changes, ups and downs and now everything is looking to be on the upswing.

Firstly,  too many projects to mention have been put on hold or altogether abandoned.  But that's about to change.  New house and new garage and new city.  Well new to me but you get the drift.

So here in sunny (and sometimes incredibly rainy) southwest Florida I'm here to stay and make the most of things.

Among the long list of life changes that has kept me from producing regular blog content, I've also added a serious fitness routine to my daily life.  And that's something I want to add here on the regular.

True,  there are hundreds of fitness blogs to peruse on the interwebs but here I have tried to add my own unique insight on dad life and all that it entails.  From building things to repairing household stuff,  raising kids and now I'm gonna mix in some content for those of us who are over the hill and beyond the 4-0. Dad-bod might be a cool social moniker and of course we see it everywhere.  It's hard to stay fit when we have a life to balance

But here's my take.

Fuck that.  Deep down we all want to look good and feel good so why let our meat wagons go to mush in our forties if there is a way to prevent that. Maybe we won't ever have that slim trim look of our twenties before life kicked us in the nuts but we don't have to give up either.

So here we go with the adventure and let's see how we do. Building projects,  drinking brews and staying in shape can happen all at the same time. Steaks and burgers never hurt anyone , fuck a salad.  Diets are miserable. I'm with you on all of it.  So I'm gonna find that balance and show the results.

Oh ya, I should say right now that I'm almost 8 months in to this. I feel great. I look good. 8 months is a short time in the big picture of my soon to be 42 years on this rock.  And worth it.

Alright.  So let's do it. I'll get the content together and hopefully we all can get some results. Fitness,  projects,  parenting,  all of it.

Cracking a cold one right now because I think I earned it. Go crack one too and raise it up for a virtual toast.  Life is good.  Let's do it

Time to get back!

So much has happened over the last year since I was keeping this blog active.  A lot of life got in the way of my other endeavours.  That said,  halfway through 2018 and life is great! Stay tuned for upcoming new content.

Man Candles Ready To Go

I finally around to some more candle making. The material is cheap, and the finished product is nice. This set is a soy wax, with different shades of blue, scented with "fresh rain" or "ocean breeze". I have these listed on Ebay, but I think I may burn one for myself.

Here is the link to the current listing HERE

Of course once these sell, I will make more so feel free to leave me a message or comment below!

A Little Cerveza

my creativity has been channeled into different paths lately because life happens. I've been baking fresh bread and writing articles for one of my other sites. Along with some deep thought and research. But tonight is a good night. Having a Pacifico

It's Been a Rough Start to the New Year

Tonight I'm baking some homemade bread for tomorrow's breakfast. It's been a tough week but I'm coming out on top. I felt it was fitting to pop the cork on this bottle. A perfect relaxing blend

Today was a long day!

heres how I'm ending it. On a high note:

Here's a cold Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in one of my new pint glasses, embossed with my name.  A Christmas gift from my brother. Came complete with a 50 cal shell cut into a bottle opener inside an ammo can. With a day like today, I feel I have earned this drink.

Keep that in mind. Beer always tastes better when you have earned it!

Cutting Bottles

I prepped a few beer bottles today. Possibly for some man candles down the road. I'm definitely getting better at this. I still break a few but for the most part I get decent results.

I also use some diamond sanding pads to clean up the edges. Here's the stack I made today

Barnwood Builders

Its after hours and I'm still up watching some tv. Right now I have the DIY channel on, watching episodes of Barnwood Builders. Such a fun show! It's great to see old craftsmanship appreciated! I know that what I do in the garage is nothing like what they accomplish on the show but it is really fun to watch someone who appreciates wood working the way I do. Our forefathers definitely were creative and I am so glad that people out there are working to keep those skills alive by restoring old works of wood like barns and log cabins. It is impressive to watch.
